Portrait Photography Workshop – Noelle – Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland

It was exciting for me when Vickie Gray announced that she was doing a Portrait  Photography Workshop in Fells Point in Baltimore, Maryland. Posting about this  workshop is why I really enjoy being a photographer – what a fun day it was. While I had  worked with Vickie previously, this workshop was my first experience with Washington  Photo Safari and I was looking forward to an opportunity to be photographically creative.  Such a nice way to spend a beautiful day on the day after St. Patrick’s Day! I had taken photos of Noelle some time ago during a fun photoshoot, so was looking forward to  working with her again as well.

As we walked around Fells Point, looking at the variety of things to use as backdrops like shops, architecture, water, bars and restaurants, we heard a thunder of motorcycles that  had just rolled into town. We saw that they were very neatly parked, and proceeded  towards them with an idea to take this shot:

Then one of the bike owners agreed that we could let Noelle sit on the bike for a few shots!  What beautiful motorcycles and it was certainly appreciated that we had permission to  photograph our model on a bike matching her sweater. Although this nice gentleman  declined to join in the photo fun, he hung around anyway to see how the workshop was  going. We thanked him again. What a unique experience.

We continued on and got some more great images using all the colors of the rainbow. Stopping to get Noelle’s favorite drink at Thai Bubble Tea, poking around Greedy Reeds  which was super crowded – always a good sign for any bookstore, and walking in to The  Sound Garden record store was also a great place to stop and browse for a few minutes.  Just about everywhere we went, we found fun and colorful spots in Fells Point.

My many thanks to Vickie, Noelle and Washington Photo Safari for a great experience and a wonderful day.
