Pets with Santa

If you happened to swing by Market Street Brewery in Havre De Grace, Maryland on December 3, you would have been treated to quite the festive spectacle. Market Street Brewery hosted a Pets with Santa day, which was an event designed not just to spread the holiday cheer and allow patrons to bring their furry friends in for a photoshoot with Santa, but also to give back to Saving Grace Animal Rescue of Maryland who is helping rescued pets be welcomed in to their forever home.

Packed with animal lovers, families and some of the cutest pets we’ve seen, the photoshoot was all kinds of adorable.  Dogs and puppies donning cute Christmas scarves and sweaters, a guinea pig, and even a few pet owners dressing up to match their four-legged buddies; every participant brought their own touch of magic to the event.

Our star guest, Santa, didn’t disappoint either! He sat patiently as the pets strutted, scurried, or in some cases, barked their way to him. Whether it was a warm cuddle, a lick on the nose, or a playful banter, each interaction was as unique as the pet and owner themselves, capturing some of the sweetest, heartwarming, and funniest holiday memories on camera.

However, the photoshoot was more than just fun and games. Saving Grace Animal Rescue of Maryland brought some rescued pets to the event as well. This Pets with Santa event served a meaningful purpose: to raise funds and awareness for the rescued animals and to give these furbabies a better chance at finding their forever homes. For each photoshoot purchased, a percentage went straight to the noble cause.

We were thrilled by the turnout and participation at the event.  Market Street Brewery customers and friends not only enjoyed a memorable afternoon, but they also played a crucial part in providing the necessary resources to animals in need.  Thanks to the Pets with Santa photoshoot, Saving Grace Animal Rescue of Maryland will now be better equipped to continue their incredible work in animal welfare.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this day possible – from the volunteers who made the photoshoot a success, the tireless workers at Market Street Brewery and Saving Grace Animal Rescue of Maryland, and to all the fantastic pet-owners who participated with such enthusiasm.

Thank you for showing that the spirit of Christmas is not just about giving, but also about compassion, empathy, and a shared commitment to make a difference.  We are reminded that kindness and love are indeed the greatest gifts we can give. Happy Holidays!

Daron & Jaden - a father and son photoshoot

Daron and Jaden - a father and son photoshoot:

Fatherhood is a special gift and it is always an amazing feeling when a photographer can capture some special moments with a father and his young son.  In early April, I had the pleasure of taking a fun photoshoot with Daron and his son, Jaden, and I wanted to share my experience with you.

Initially, the photoshoot was intended to give Daron some updated headshots.  When I heard that his son would also be there, it was also then a father/son experience in front of the camera.  When I arrived at their Reisterstown home, Jaden was initially shy, and so we took our time chatting and getting to know each other as I was setting up my camera gear.  Daron wanted some shots by the fireplace, so we played around with a variety of poses, and had both of them making some silly faces, which really lightened the mood and brought about a lot of laughs.  One of my favorite photos of the day, at the beginning of the shoot, showed a tender moment between father and son.  Once we went outside, it was so fun and amazing to watch Jaden setting up his own poses, seeing his own creativity and spontaneity on display, and he was very excited to provide suggestions on locations.

As we worked through the shoot, I was filled with a sense of joy and satisfaction, feeling that connection between father and son, and the fun they were having together.  There is something truly special about seeing a young person light up with happiness and being able to share in those experiences.

Overall, the photoshoot was a wonderful experience.  It was great to be able to capture precious moments and create something they will be able to cherish for years to come.  There is nothing quite like the bond that fathers and sons share.

Isabel - Steady&Sway - Ellicott City, Maryland 3-31-23

Isabel - Ellicott City, MD:

Have you ever been part of a photoshoot that was so fun that you couldn’t help but smile throughout the entire session?  Well, I had the pleasure of being a part of one such photoshoot recently, and I am excited to share the experience with you.

My friend and wedding photographer extraordinaire, Isabel, of Steady&Sway, agreed to be my model for a little photoshoot in early springtime.  As soon as I arrived in downtown Ellicott City, there were so many amazing locations that it was difficult to pick just one, so we roamed around enjoying this quaint little town and catching up.  Isabel wasted no time in showing me all her favorite spots, and we quickly jumped right into the photoshoot.  The vibe was relaxed and fun, as is her style and mine.  Isabel’s easy-going and patient nature helped me to easily experiment with various angles and poses until we were satisfied with the results.

What started as a simple headshot photoshoot turned into a memorable experience that we will both cherish for a long time. We sat for a while and had coffee and great conversation at a cute little restaurant afterwards.  I left Ellicott City that day feeling empowered, confident, and inspired to get back on track with my photography business.

If you are looking for a photographer who is creative, fun and knows how to capture the most beautiful wedding photos, look no further than Steady&Sway.  Isabel is a gem in the photography industry, and her ability to make any photoshoot an unforgettable experience is a rare quality that’s hard to find. It is always wonderful to work with her, photograph her, and also sit and chat with such a talented friend.

Kelly and Jesse - Jerusalem Mill - Kingsville, Maryland 4-2-23

Kelly and Jesse - Jerusalem Mill Historic Village:

Hello there! Let me introduce you to a happy couple who have been dating for four years - Kelly and Jesse.

When I first met Jesse, he was a model in a photoshoot with a group of models and photographers. It was a truly hilarious and memorable event.  Some time later, I met Kelly as we were at the hair salon of a dear friend. We were talking about setting Kelly up on a blind date, and I mentioned that I would see if Jesse was interest in a blind date with Kelly. My first blind date arrangement that actually worked out!  This happy couple have now been dating for four years, and I can tell they are deeply in love. It is beautiful to see them so happy and excited to be together.  I am truly grateful to have been a part of their story.

We decided to meet for the photoshoot at the beautiful Jerusalem Mill Historic Village in the early springtime.  Initially we were taking headshots.  We then had some fun walking around this historic village, taking some individual and couple photos, and made our way over to the Jericho Road covered bridge for some more.  Afterwards, we went to a local restaurant and had a nice lunch and some great conversation.

I can’t wait to capture more special moments for them in the future. I certainly wish them a lifetime of love and happiness together.

So, if you’re in love and want to capture some memories with your partner, don’t hesitate to contact me!  I would love to be a part of your journey and create some images that you will treasure for years to come.  Until then, keep loving and laughing together!

Marigold Flowers By Bailey – Bailey - Joppa, Maryland – 9/8/22

It is fun to see what people do with their future once they graduate, and how they apply all that education in order to become productive members of society.  Bailey went to school for floral design and graduated from college ready to take on the world by starting her own business – Marigold Flowers By Bailey.  How exciting and what a lovely business to start.  She is hard-working, dedicated, and always makes such breathtaking arrangements.  I had the privilege and honor to photograph her as she celebrated her first year as a business owner.   I highly recommend Marigold Flowers By Bailey for your wedding, event, wreaths, and other custom floral needs.

My many thanks to Bailey for a great photography experience and a wonderful way to celebrate your first year as a business owner.  This is just the beginning of a wonderful and beautiful career.

Portrait Photography Workshop – Noelle – Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland

It was exciting for me when Vickie Gray announced that she was doing a Portrait  Photography Workshop in Fells Point in Baltimore, Maryland. Posting about this  workshop is why I really enjoy being a photographer – what a fun day it was. While I had  worked with Vickie previously, this workshop was my first experience with Washington  Photo Safari and I was looking forward to an opportunity to be photographically creative.  Such a nice way to spend a beautiful day on the day after St. Patrick’s Day! I had taken photos of Noelle some time ago during a fun photoshoot, so was looking forward to  working with her again as well.

As we walked around Fells Point, looking at the variety of things to use as backdrops like shops, architecture, water, bars and restaurants, we heard a thunder of motorcycles that  had just rolled into town. We saw that they were very neatly parked, and proceeded  towards them with an idea to take this shot:

Then one of the bike owners agreed that we could let Noelle sit on the bike for a few shots!  What beautiful motorcycles and it was certainly appreciated that we had permission to  photograph our model on a bike matching her sweater. Although this nice gentleman  declined to join in the photo fun, he hung around anyway to see how the workshop was  going. We thanked him again. What a unique experience.

We continued on and got some more great images using all the colors of the rainbow. Stopping to get Noelle’s favorite drink at Thai Bubble Tea, poking around Greedy Reeds  which was super crowded – always a good sign for any bookstore, and walking in to The  Sound Garden record store was also a great place to stop and browse for a few minutes.  Just about everywhere we went, we found fun and colorful spots in Fells Point.

My many thanks to Vickie, Noelle and Washington Photo Safari for a great experience and a wonderful day.
